These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Scootie mobile application and the electric‑scooter sharing service (together, the “Service”), operated in Nikiti, Sithonia, Halkidiki, Greece. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Operator: Scootie, AFM 147540570, Ormylia 63088, Halkidiki, Greece. Contact: info@scootie.boo.

1. Eligibility

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • The account is personal — you provide accurate registration details and do not let anyone else ride on your account.
  • You ride one at a time — no passengers. Carrying a second person is illegal in Greece and grounds for account suspension.

2. Safety — mandatory under Greek Law 4784/2020 (LPEV) and the Road Traffic Code (KOK)

  • You will wear a properly fastened helmet at all times.
  • Zero tolerance: you will not ride after consuming any alcohol or drugs (0.0‰ — stricter than the general Greek limit).
  • You will not use a phone or headphones while riding.
  • You will keep both hands on the bars except when signaling.
  • At night, you will use the scooter’s lights and wear reflective clothing.

3. Where you can ride

  • Bike lanes when available, otherwise roads with a posted speed limit of 50 km/h or less.
  • Walking pace on pedestrian zones; yield to people on foot.
  • Never on highways, expressways, or sidewalks at riding speed.
  • Maximum 25 km/h — do not tamper with the scooter or attempt to remove the speed limiter.
  • No commercial use: no deliveries, courier work, or transporting goods for payment. No off‑road riding, racing, or stunts.

4. Parking

  • You will only end a ride inside a designated parking zone shown on the map, standing upright on its kickstand in a public area without blocking pedestrians or traffic.
  • Never park against trees, traffic signs or lights, parking meters, or emergency exits; keep clear of bus stops (≥12 m), railway crossings (≥7 m), bridges, tunnels, and disabled‑access ramps.
  • Never leave the scooter on private property, in parking garages, interior courtyards, or shopping‑centre lots.
  • A photo of the parked scooter is required to end your ride. Parking outside a zone may result in additional charges.

5. Your responsibility

  • You are liable for all road‑traffic violations committed during your ride. Scootie may charge your wallet for fines, parking violations, or damage you cause.
  • Scootie does not provide personal accident insurance. You ride at your own risk and are personally liable for injury or damage you cause to third parties.
  • You are liable for damage to the scooter caused by misuse, vandalism, or failure to report a fault, and you indemnify Scootie against third‑party claims arising from your use of the Service.

6. Liability & account suspension

  • To the extent permitted by Greek consumer law (Law 2251/1994), Scootie’s liability is limited to cases of intent or gross negligence and excludes indirect or consequential damages.
  • We may suspend or close your account for: false registration data, payment default or chargeback, serious or repeated breaches of these Terms, riding under the influence, carrying passengers, tampering with a scooter, or a lost/stolen device.

7. Payments

  • Scootie may charge your wallet for ride fees, damages, late returns, or fines. Prices are shown inside the app before each ride. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

8. Data & governing law

  • Your location and ride data are processed under our Privacy Policy.
  • These Terms are governed by Greek law. You may address consumer disputes through the Greek Consumer Ombudsman (synigoros-katanaloti.gr) or the competent Greek courts (Polygyros / Thessaloniki).
